Project overview

GVC was engaged by Built Environs to deliver the communications package for Auckland Airport’s Western Terminal - Stage 1 development, part of the airport’s longterm expansion programme. The works included a new Joint Border Agencies screening hall, service areas, and a Western Truck Dock to support increased passenger processing and logistics relocation.

GVC’s involvement

  • Built multiple server rooms for AIAL and border agencies
  • Installed nearly 600 Cat6A outlets and fibre to MPI X-ray systems
  • Deployed IT equipment including switches, WiFi, UPS, FIDS, and phones for AIAL
  • Operated within a live terminal environment under strict H&S and security protocols
