Independent Communications & Infrastructure Configuration Consultancy

Delivering the best view of your assets

Options

There are many vendor specific products that allow you to view your network and see who does what, but this generally means that you have to upgrade all of your existing patching infrastructure, all of which comes at a premium and incidentally, the existing equipment still has a 20 year warranty attached to it, that the vendor convinced you would be a good investment.

Or you can go the whole hog and get a proprietary DCIM product that can tell you how things are connected together and how much power you are using at what time of day and how cool it is by the cabinet by the door, which is all very well in certain circumstances.

The Solution

We personally advocate a much simpler solution, which enables and documents legacy equipment, be it passive or active and allows the customer to view and interrogate their network with proven software systems. Our system will automate MS Visio diagrams for floor plans, rack layouts and network diagrams, saving massive amounts of time.

It will produce excel spreadsheets with patching schedules to assist technicians with installation and maintenance.

It will manage assets and audit trails and will assist in producing accurate maintenance schedules.

All of the MS Visio diagrams allow for interrogation of devices and how they interconnect within the network.

All of which may be done from a web browser.

Our Focus

We can enable our customers to have a more accurate understanding of their cabling infrastructure and all of the attached bells and whistles, be it in an office block, Data Centre, Campus or even countrywide.

We aim to help our customers answer queries about their assets quickly and efficiently when things go wrong. We can help them plan for maintenance, projects and upgrades with an element of certainty, all without the costly expense of having to keep sending techs out to audit their infrastructure.

Now Here’s a Few Questions

· Do you actually know where your assets are located

· Do you know how they all network together

· Do you know how many ports are available

· Do you have sufficient space, power, cooling and network connectivity to provide for the company needs for the next 6 months

· When equipment failure occurs – which users, services and business processes are impacted and what options do you have to resolve the issue

· What under-utilized passive infrastructure do you have

· Who will scream if I take this cable out

· What changes on the network happened last week / month / year

· What is going to happen in the future – project planning

I suspect there are not many companies or individuals that can answer all of these questions and even if there are some clever people with all of that local knowledge safely tucked away, what would happen if they were abducted by aliens. Normal 0 false false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
